American Nurses Association (ANA), Hall of Fame:"In 1974, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Bicentennial Celebration Committee determined that those nurses whose dedication and achievements have significantly affected the nursing profession should be honored for their contributions. Therefore, the ANA Board of Directors created a seven-member Hall of Fame Committee who chose 1976, the year of the nation's bicentennial, as the best time for unveiling the Hall of Fame. From more than 100 names, the Hall of Fame Committee unanimously selected fifteen charter members with the recommendation that the Hall of Fame be made permanent."

Gary, RN and Marie Schmidt, RN members of the Special Anniversary Observances Committee of the Virginia Nurses' Association and published in 1975. Under the guidance of Evelyn C. The word "nurse" was not used until the thirteenth century. It originated from the Latin term to nurture. Thoemmes Continuum, History of Nursing, A History of Nursing Gallery:"Nursing, as a profession and a branch of scholarship, has progressed since Mary Adelaide Nutting and Lavinia Dock penned in 1907 the illustrated two-volume A History of Nursing. The Evolution of Nursing Systems from the Earliest Times to the Foundation of the First English and American Training Schools for Nurses (two additional volumes, edited by Dock alone, were published in 1912 and were subtitled From the Earliest Times to the Present Day with Special Reference to the Work of the Past Thirty Years). After searching the marketplace in response to customer inquiries, it became obvious that there were no catalogs of this type serving the nursing profession.
