The following form contents were entered on Thu, 28 Nov 2002 Your Name: Stephanie Salings, RN,CRNAC, LNC Please describe your business: I am an independent legal nurse consultant offering efficient yet cost effective consulting services to attorneys and health care facilities. I have eight years of experience in health care with my main focus being in Geriatrics. I have thorough knowledge of all issues concerning long term care and geriatrics. Including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and State and Federal regulations. I have served in several positions in long term care including supervisory roles allowing me vast knowledge of all aspects. Street Address: P.O. Box 373 City: Bee Spring State: KY Zip Code: 42207 E-Mail: sslegalnurse@yahoo.com Homepage Address: http://sslegalnurse.tripod.com What type of business or categories under which you would like to be listed : Legal Nurse Consultant Nurse Entrepreneur, Nursing Expert Contact person(s): Stephanie Salings Fax number: 1-661-761-7950 In what date (month/year) did you start your business? August 2002 What kind of nursing do you do? Geriatrics, Home Health How did you hear about the Nurse Entrepreneur Homesite? Searching to internet for legal nurse consultant information How many years have you been practicing as a nurse: eight years What made you decide to start your own business? Needing more flexibility in my hours for time with my daughter. Employment changes in career? three What specific qualities and traits do you feel make nurses especially qualified to operate a business?: They have to be very organized, efficient, excellent communicators, and be able to multi-task situations at all times. Where do you work? Yes, in a long term care facility Your most pressing concerns with the profession and healthcare: I feel that the recent cuts in funding for Medicare and Medicaid has very negatively impacted the healthcare profession, especially in my area of long term care. Nurses are already overworked, underpaid and frustrated with the nursing shortage. These cuts will only force nursing home owners to not give increases and employee incentives, therefore, increasing the hardship on the currently employed nurses. Ultimately, this will only serve to worsen the nursing shortage already present. My concern is that all of this will only hurt patient care which, after all, should be all of our main concern. Other areas of interest and expertise: Medicare fraud, abuse and Neglect Issues. ****************************************************** ****************************************************** Nursing Topics, A to Z: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z

Nurses' Station:"The idea for the Nurses' Station Catalog was conceived in 1989. After searching the marketplace in response to customer inquiries, it became obvious that there were no catalogs of this type serving the nursing profession. To be sure, there were several catalogs offering nurse's uniforms and a smattering of professional items. But there weren't any catalogs at the time offering a range of gifts, clothing, professional items, name badges, shoes and scrubs for nurses. It took two years of hard work to gather samples and put a together a catalog of the most unique and high-quality items for nurses."
